Everything Can Fall Into a Carpenter’s foot

According to this Occupational Safety and Health Administration results, being a carpenter does not come accident-free.

Working as a carpenter is risky and injuries can and do happen. Some of the worst wounds that I have seen occurred as a result of heavy machinery and materials falling and landing on the carpenter’s feet, while they were working. Indeed, I have personally broken bones in both my feet after accidentally dropping very heavy carpentry equipment.

As a result, it is my duty to tell you of the importance of taking into account the risks involved in working in this industry. It is also my responsibility to ask you to do everything that you can to keep yourself safe whilst at the workshop.

And, in my experience, one of the best ways that I have found to stay injury-free working as a carpenter, is to invest in a high-quality pair of work boots that can protect the feet from any kind of hazard.

  1. Im really surprised you didnt even mention the redwing 10877. Ive been framing and post framing 20 years and these are by fare my #1 pick in a work boot and I have a permanent 3″ 1/2 inch screw holding my right heel together from it being crushed in ’07 .
They are $300 , but run about $400 out the door with insoles and tax. But ypur feet will thank you .
And ive worn them in the rain on a sheet metal roof without sliding of (the traction sole really works).

  2. I’ve had Thorogood boots for about a month now and I will say directly out of the box they are instantly comfortable. I will state they are toward the snug side at first. A slight pressure nothing unbearable on the top of my foot but if you buying steel toes clearly you work a harder style job and can suck it up. After the less then a week break in period I am thoroughly sold on these boots.
